Client: National Education Technology Initiative
In today's digital age, students are exposed to an overwhelming amount of online information, ranging from factual content to misinformation, propaganda, and targeted advertisements. K-12 students in the U.S. need critical skills to differentiate between credible sources and misleading content. However, traditional education systems often lack structured courses that teach media literacy and digital awareness. Educators also face challenges in finding well-curated digital literacy courses, and school districts require solutions that integrate seamlessly with their existing systems while scaling to accommodate thousands of students.
The rise of digital media and online information has created an urgent need for students to develop critical thinking skills for evaluating online content. Schools were struggling to find comprehensive, age-appropriate resources that could be easily integrated into existing curricula.
School districts were spending significant resources on fragmented digital literacy solutions that failed to scale effectively or integrate with existing systems. Teachers were spending an estimated 5-7 hours weekly searching for and adapting digital literacy materials, taking time away from instruction and student engagement.
We conducted extensive research with educators, students, and school administrators across multiple districts to understand the specific challenges and requirements for an effective digital literacy platform.
We developed a web-based e-learning platform designed to educate K-12 students on how to critically analyze and process digital information. The platform enables teachers to guide students through curated courses while ensuring seamless integration with multiple school districts. Built with scalability in mind, the platform can handle thousands of students simultaneously.
